Trip to Tamayo

These photos are from a recent work visit I made to Tamayo - an area in the south west of the DR where there is a large number of Haitian immigrants and cane cutters. The photos are from a workshop I sat in on for a group of volunteer health promoters - they are members of their individual communities who go out and visit with families, raising awareness about environmental health risks such as improper garbage disposal, the dangers of unclean water, etc. It was a great chance to meet a group of people truly committed to helping their communities...
